Mrs. Emilie Shogan, a first-grade teacher at Level Green Elementary School has received a set of leveled readers to help satiate her students’ love of reading. Funds for the new books were raised on the DonorsChoose crowdfunding platform in less than 24 hours.
Shogan provides the students with time to read in the classroom, and also lets them borrow books to take with them and read at home. “At this point in the year, many of the students are reading fluently and it is exciting for them to read new books on their own,” said Shogan.
