Mystery Readers Enthrall Students

The kindergarteners in Mrs. Vovaris’s class at Level Green Elementary love to start their day with a story and they especially love surprises.  Student Learning Assistant, Mrs. Deana Rocca, put those two things together to create a Mystery Reader program.

Parents or other family members can record themselves reading a story to the class. Before the video starts, the students hear two clues about the reader so they can guess who will be reading. “They get so excited to see their mom, dad, grandma, or cousin on the big screen reading to their class,”  said Mrs. Rocca.  “I really hope this helps to foster a love of reading in each and every student. Given their big smiles, it looks like that’s exactly what is happening.”
