5th-Graders Attend Career Discovery Day

The fifth-graders of Penn-Trafford School District’s five elementary schools attended a ‘Career Discovery Day’ at Westmoreland County Community College on May 22.  The event, which was sponsored by PHEPLE, brought together professionals from eighteen different fields to share details of their careers with the students.

Students rotated around the facility to visit each of the career stations, hear about many job possibilities, and ask questions of the gracious presenters.  Some of the careers represented were state police, auto sales, nursing, physical therapy, dental hygienist, welding, wildlife conservationist, EMT, and firefighter.
