Level Green is ‘Gone Fishing’

In a creative lesson called “Gone Fishing,” Penn-Trafford long-term substitute teacher Ms. Nikki Bon taught the fourth-graders of Level Green Elementary School about force, motion, push and pull.

The fun science experiment had students testing the force of a magnet to see how many fish they could catch. The next day, students discussed how many "fish" they caught and why some fishing tactics were more successful than others.  Students determined that the force with which they dropped their fishing rod, and whether a fish was plain metal (or coated in wax) affected how many fish they caught.
