During this school year, Level Green Elementary School introduced the Accelerated Reader (AR) program for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades during their reading classes. The program supports independent reading by allowing students to read books at their appropriate reading levels and assess their comprehension through short, computerized quizzes.
The AR program is structured around a point system, where each book has a designated point value based on its length and difficulty. Students earn points by passing comprehension quizzes after completing a book. To encourage participation, Level Green offered various incentives, including a homework pass, dodgeball, painting, lunch with a special guest, and a movie afternoon.
